FAQs
What is GutRx?
GutRx is the flagship product developed by Probiotica Supplements. Once research identified the main ingredients needed for alleviating the largest combination of health issues, each were thoroughly tested and found to work well when combined in different formulations. The results were formulations for several products to alleviate a multitude of symptoms.
How is GutRx different?
GutRx is the only probiotic on the market to utilize Akkermansia and Christensenella effectively. Most probiotics focus on providing a combination of different strains of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. While both of these have a wide range of strains that are beneficial, studies have shown that there are more species that play a crucial role in our microbiomes.
Where are the ingredients from?
Our probiotic bacteria are harvested from lab grade suppliers around the world. Currently we purchase from our laboratory fulfillment partners in the United States, Italy and China. Each batch is thoroughly tested when received from the suppliers to ensure the species survive the transportation.
Aren't probiotics found in food?
Yes! Depending on the diet, someone can maintain a healthy and diverse digestive microbiome just from eating diverse foods. Many foods have plenty of probiotic bacteria like Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and Saccharomyces that are typically found in your pharmacy aisle probiotics. The main benefits of supplementing with these probiotics is to know you’re getting those bacteria regularly, even if your diet isn’t perfect. However, there are two specific species that are not found in food and are found in the digestive systems of healthy individuals. These are Akkermansia and Christensenella.

What is Akkermansia and Christensenella?
Akkermansia muciniphila is known for its ability to strengthen the gut lining by breaking down mucin, promoting gut barrier integrity, and reducing inflammation. It’s linked to metabolic health, weight management, and reduced risk of conditions like obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Christensenella is associated with a healthy microbiome, playing a role in reducing inflammation and supporting digestion. It’s also linked to lower body mass index (BMI) and may have genetic associations, suggesting that its abundance may be partly hereditary.
Why should someone take probiotics?
- Support Digestive Health: Probiotics balance the gut microbiota, alleviating bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, and symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
- Boost Immune Function: Probiotics promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, preventing harmful bacteria and pathogens from overgrowing in the gut, thereby strengthening the immune system.
- Restore Gut Health After Antibiotics: Antibiotics can kill both harmful and beneficial bacteria, leading to gut imbalances. Probiotics help restore healthy bacteria levels after antibiotic use.
- Improve Mental Health: Research on the gut-brain axis shows probiotics can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress by positively influencing gut bacteria.
- Prevent and Treat Diarrhea: Probiotics are recommended for preventing and treating diarrhea, especially antibiotic-associated or traveler’s diarrhea.
- Enhance Nutrient Absorption: Some probiotics improve the absorption of nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, supporting overall health.
- Weight Management: Certain probiotic strains, like Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, are linked to healthier body weight and may help regulate fat storage and appetite.
- Improve Skin Health: Probiotics can benefit skin conditions like eczema, acne, and rosacea by reducing inflammation and promoting a balanced microbiome.
- Support Heart Health: Some probiotics lower cholesterol and reduce blood pressure by breaking down bile in the gut, which benefits heart health.
- Allergy and Inflammation Relief: Probiotics can reduce the severity of allergic reactions and improve inflammatory conditions by promoting a balanced immune response.
Taking probiotics can provide targeted benefits depending on the strain and individual needs.
